I never thought the day would actually come where I would be able to get that tracking message when looking up the progress of my KnK. It would be an understatement to say that I am excited (I have not been checking the tracking page a couple of times a day) about finally getting that puppy.
I have been looking at the machine since it came out. Hubby decided that's what he wanted to give me for Christmas last year, but since everyone else wanted the machine too it was sold out and didn't come back in stock until Valentines day. A very long time waiting and checking to see if it was back in stock.
Unfortunately I won't get it installed until the weekend. Hubby and I need to move some things around to make room.
This week is ending up being a grand week for getting goodies in the mail. Yesterday the stamps arrived (they're already trimmed and mounted) and the KnK is scheduled to arrive on Thursday.
I was seriously thinking that I would not get all those sets mounted yesterday, because by the end of it the scissors were starting to rub the skin of my thumb and the middle finger is swollen where the scissors were resting. This always happens when I'm getting a mostly stamp shipment from SU. I trim and I trim and I trim and the pile of untrimmed sets doesn't seem to get any smaller until my fingers hurt. I am starting to wish that SU would start die cutting the regular sets like they're now doing with all mini catalog sets. So much easier to pop the stamps out and mount them, though I do wonder how much the prices would go up if SU were to go down that road.
Anyway, Thursday is KnK day. I am happy that it doesn't arrive at the beginning of the week or I would have to wait until the weekend to get all set up and running. Now I just have to have the machine sitting for a day (or two) letting it adjust itself to not being on the road (It's always a good idea letting electronics do this).
I wonder how I should break it to the good old Wishblade that it's about the be demoted, unhooked from the computer and moved off from the shelf of honor. It has served me so well over the years, though it has started to sound a bit tired lately.
Today I am crossing my fingers, that I hopefully will find out whether my goodies have shipped or when they will ship.
The KnK is in a bit of a delay because the main person who normally does shipping are out being quite ill (Was told this by my contact) and the person taking over the shipping is not used to doing that job, so it's taking a bit longer.
I'm not so sure what is going on with the stamps though. I know it is SAB time and that SU sometimes are quite busy during this time of year. Maybe today will be the day when they show up and I just didn't know they were on their way.
That was one of the first questions I asked myself after we had gotten the new monitor home and hooked up. Got a slightly bigger monitor and wide screen to boot. So nice with a bit more screen real estate, though it is taking a bit getting used to the view when doing the graphics stuff.
Yesterday I started work on a small 4 drawer chest all done in card stock and paper, but I don't have anything to use for feet or drawer pulls.
Why is it that I somehow always end up starting or working on projects for which I don't have all the supplies needed to finish them?
I have been following the Danish news for the last couple of days and it seems like there's some riot like things going on every night. From the looks of it, it seems like it is not just in Copehagen anymore either.
What the heck is going on?
I have never seen Denmark like this.
The waiting for my Christmas present from last year is almost over. The KnK came back in stock today and the order has been placed.
The next couple of weeks (hopefully just late next week) is going to be great for mail with both the StampinUp order and the KnK coming in :)
Now there's just that thing about patience *g*
Edited to add:
How could I forget the cookies? I am getting to taste GS cookies for the very first time :)
that it would be easier to use the grid lines on my clear stamping block if I actually cleaned it?
Heh!
Submitted my StampinUp order today. Could have done it much earlier (or later) in the year, but wanted to make sure I got my free SAB stuff. Who doesn't love free stuff :D
The list is long, very long but I am going to have so much fun when it comes in.
Stipple Brushes, Perennial Favorites, Always, Take Three, Priceless, Boho Backgrounds, One of a kind, All Scallops, Happiness, From the kitchen of, Form & Function, Sweet Serendipity, Smarty Pants, Enjoy every moment, Fruit Stand
SAB stuff:
So many scallops, Birthday Whimsy, Lots of thoughts, Friendship blooms, Merci, Love & Happiness (rub ons)
Because my regular order qualifies for it I got an extra set of the rub ons
And because StampinUp believes in rewarding their customers for spending money I also got the following stuff as hostess benefits:
Infinite Goodness, Totally Tabs, Round Tab Punch
That is 21 sets of stamps which needs to be trimmed and/or mounted.
Now I just need to figure out how to store these puppies, because my current solution is full with no easy way to expand.
...and a little bit more.
That's the total of the Tuesday/Wednesday snow storm. The most amazing thing was, that hubby's employer actually called "snow policy" for 2nd and 3rd shift ahead of schedule. That's the first time in 10 years I have seen that happen.
The worst part was, the coffee maker rolled over and died so we had to run out after the snow stopped and get a new one. Thankfully we did get our morning coffee, so not all was lost.
Still I am so happy that we were not down south with the family. They were not in the hardest hit area, but got a lot of wind and rain.
I am starting to feel like a broken record, but they're predicting a major snow storm coming through this after noon through sometime tomorrow. The latest amounts should be somewhere in the neighborhood of 8 to 12+ inches.
Also I am still waiting for the KnK to get back in stock. The latest I head is, that it might be here around Valentines day. It's such a hard time waiting. I'm seeing all these great things people are doing with the machine and I just want to join in and play.
Someone need to take this computer away from me, because in the last 12 hours I have made 2 major (stupid) errors which has cost me 1000's of lost files, most which cannot easily be recovered.
*sigh*
Someone want to keep me company while I re rip our music cd collection and hunt down other files for which I do not have the cds?
